Therapeutic Yoga with Occupational Therapist and Certified Yoga Teacher, Pauline Robinson

Therapeutic yoga in Galway, individualised for your specific health needs

Yoga is a therapeutic option that has many benefits for our physical and emotional health.

Pauline offers individual yoga sessions for people who, for many reasons, may not be capable of attending a yoga class in the community. Pauline works with you to determine what your health needs are and how yoga can be incorporated into your life to help you reach your goals.

What is yoga?

Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual discipline that incorporates movement, breathing and meditation. There are many different styles of yoga. Therapeutic yoga sessions are based on a Hatha style class, with a gentle and restorative approach to movement and recovery. In essence, this means the class will be based on gentle yoga postures with simple breathing exercises. The yoga postures will be adapted for you to ensure you are comfortable and safe, while gaining maximum benefit from the practice.

Who should attend therapeutic yoga sessions?

These sessions are suited for anyone who wants individual support in using yoga as part of their therapy. The sessions are suited for those looking for a gentle yet effective option to increase activity; especially when living with a chronic condition or recovering from illness or injury. It is ideal for individuals for whom yoga classes in the community are perhaps too demanding or intimidating.

A therapeutic yoga session is individualised specifically for your needs. It offers the reassurance that alternative movement/posture options will be provided as needed, to ensure that you are working within your own capacity. The yoga practice will be accessible for you and suited to your condition.
