June 20, 2025What is the STIM Pathway?
The Short-Term Intensive Model (STIM) is a time-limited therapy approach designed for adults who want to begin focused, goal-oriented therapeutic work. It offers a structured, high-impact alternative to open-ended weekly sessions and may be especially helpful for people:
• Looking for clarity or direction around a specific issue
• Interested in working toward a clear goal over a short period
• Feeling well enough to engage in a more intensive model
• Waiting for a place in ongoing weekly therapy but wanting to begin meaningful work now
You’ll complete our standard adult mental health assessment first. If the STIM Pathway is the right fit for your needs, it may be offered as one of the service options following that assessment.
What’s Included
✅ Three 2-hour therapy sessions
✅ One 1-hour follow-up session, held 6 weeks later
✅ Sessions tailored to your goals and preferences
Session Details
• 📅 Tuesdays, 10am–12pm
• 🧑💻 Online or In-person
This work is highly individualised and shaped collaboratively around what matters most to you.
Who Will I Work With?
The STIM Pathway is delivered by Lisa Healy, a trauma-informed psychotherapist and accredited EMDR therapist. Lisa has over 10 years’ experience supporting adults through trauma, emotional distress, and neurodivergent life experiences.
Her approach is:
• Integrative and person-centred
• Rooted in third-wave behaviour therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
• Neurodiversity-affirming, compassionate, and practical
Costs
• Initial Adult Mental Health Assessment: €150
• Each 2-hour therapy session: €300
• 1-hour follow-up session: €150
Is the STIM Pathway Right for Me?
This offering might be a good fit if:
• You prefer short-term, focused work rather than open-ended therapy
• You want to start working on a specific goal while waiting for a longer-term space
• You’d benefit from an individualised, structured experience
• You have a busy schedule and could more easily commit to this format
Total client commitment is just 8 hours of scheduled time, which may be more accessible for those managing work or childcare responsibilities.
What Happens Next?
All new clients go through our standard assessment process. If the STIM Pathway feels clinically appropriate and aligned with your goals, it will be offered as one of your possible next steps.
